HASTER: Opfordring l besky else af Ahmadi-muslimer i Pakistan
Dear Chair of the Foreign Affairs Commi ee,
I am wri ng with deep urgency to bring to your a en on the systema c and state-enabled
persecu on of Ahmadi Muslims in Pakistan. On 18 April 2025, Mr. Laeeq Ahmad Cheema, a peaceful
member of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, was martyred in a brutal religiously mo vated a ack
— a tragic result of an environment of open hatred and impunity.
This is not isolated violence. It is a
deliberate campaign
in which the Pakistani state has turned a
blind eye — or even granted space — to extremist groups, notably Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP),
to incite hate and carry out a acks. Our mosques are being demolished, private prayers are
criminalized, and shockingly, even the graves of Ahmadi Muslims are desecrated. In many places,
Ahmadis are not even allowed to bury their deceased in public graveyards.
Moreover, beyond these physical viola ons, Ahmadis face intense social and economic exclusion.
From being harassed at their workplaces to being denied employment opportuni es altogether, they
suffer daily indigni es solely due to their faith.
We respec ully urge Denmark to act — by raising this issue in its dialogue with Pakistan,
condi oning aid on human rights accountability, and holding formal hearings to inves gate the
abuse. Your ac on would be a beacon of support for a deeply marginalized community.
Thank you for standing up for human dignity and religious freedom.
Yours sincerely,
Mohammad Zakaria Khan
Formand, Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Denmark
