Support the Iranian Resistance particularly women against religious dictatorship for democracy and equality

Call for urgent transfer of 3100 members of the resistance including 1000 women from Camp Liberty to

Ashraf for their security

In the last 3 decades over 120,000 political opponents to the religious and misogynist dictatorship ruling Iran, including tens of thousands of women defending freedom and equality have been executed. Today, executions continue and a number of political prisoners are now awaiting execution.3200 refugees, members of the Iranian Resistance in Iraq including 1000 women, who are considered as"protected persons" under international conventions have numerously been fatally attacked by armed Iraqiforces under the order of the Iranian regime. At least 57 people including 9 women have been killed and over1200, including hundreds of women, injured. They have been living in Camp Ashraf for a quarter of a century,a place where they have transformed a desert to a modern city. The role of women's leadership andmanagement has been determinant in the society. The Iraqi government to the request of the Iranian regime forcefully expelled the refugees last year fromAshraf and transferred them to Camp Liberty. The plan was carried out by Martin Kobler, SpecialRepresentative of the United Nations in Iraq with lies and deceit. The United Nations Working Group onArbitrary Detention announced in two reports that Camp Liberty is a prison. The living conditions in CampLiberty especially the decayed infrastructure, particularly the destroyed sewer system, is intolerable. The Camp was attacked by rockets on February 9thof this year forces by forces affiliated to the Iranian regimewith the help of the Iraqi government. Seven people including one women were killed and 100 injured. Ten ofthese individuals will be handicapped for ever. Considering that Liberty is 80 times smaller than Ashraf theyare threatened to further attacks since Ashraf has concrete buildings and safe trenches. The Iraqi government has officially emphasized that they cannot prevent future attacks to the Camp and itsaffiliated forces have in practice threatened to more. The role of women in the Iranian Resistance's movement, whether in Ashraf or Liberty or is in general veryimportant. Maryam Rajavi, the leader of the resistance strongly believes that women are the force for changeand democracy. She has been able to bring thousands of women side by side men in the struggle against theregime. Her 10 point plan for the future of Iran is based on separation of religion and state, complete genderequality with respect of political, social rights and the equal participation of women in political leadership andthe abolishment of any forms of discrimination against women and respects the universal declaration ofhuman rights and the abolition of the death penalty. In view of the above points, we call on the UN, US and EU to:1. Urgently return the defenseless refugees from the killing fields of Liberty to Camp Ashraf and theUNHCR to immediately announce their refugees status.2. Support the 10 point plan by Mrs. Rajavi as apracticalaction to establish peace and democracy andsupport women's rights in Iran.
