Dear Sir/Madam,I am writing to inform you of a couple of changes which will come into effect shortly in the InternationalSecretariat.Gill Rawling, Head of the Assembly’s Conference Service, has decided to leave the Assembly and toreturn to her native country, the United Kingdom. Gill has worked at the International Secretariat foralmost 14 years and during that time has been at the heart of the International Secretariat’s contributionto organizing all the sessions and major Assembly meetings. All the delegations which have hostedsessions during Gill’s time here will have appreciated her efficiency, friendly diligence and almostlegendary eye for detail. She will be much missed by members and staff alike and we wish her everysuccess in her new life.I am delighted to confirm, however, that the high quality of service within the Conference Service will beretained. The current deputy, Helen Cadwallender, will assume the post of Head of the ConferenceService and will take up her new position at the end of April, following Gill’s departure. Having worked inthe Conference Service for the past four years, Helen has the experience and ability required for therole and is much looking forward to this new challenge.Claire Watkins, who many of you will know from her positions as Co-ordinator of the Committee on theCivil Dimension of Security and Co-ordinator of the Mediterranean Special Group, has been promotedto the position of Deputy Head of the Conference Service, and in order to ensure a smooth transition inthe department will take up her on April 1st- prior to Gill’s departure. Claire is, of course, thoroughlyfamiliar with the Assembly, and her experience, efficiency and dedication qualify her perfectly for theConference Service team.We wish Helen and Claire every success in their new roles.Naturally, with Claire moving from the Committees to the Conference Service, a redistribution of taskswill be required within amongst the Committee Coordinators. These changes are reflected on theorganization chart attached.Yours sincerely,
