Concerning Bruce Power's radioactive shipment to Sweden.

Prioritet:

HøjDear Mr. Andersen, please be kind enough to submit the concerns of the Bruce Peninsula Environment Group to the Chair andMembers of the Committee in Christiansborg about Bruce Power's proposed shipment of 16 hugeradioactive steam generators through the Skagerarrak and Kattegat to Nykoeping in Sweden. The Bruce Peninsula is a similar, much smaller land formation like Denmark. We are a beautiful piece of landbetween Georgian Bay and Lake Huron, with two National Parks and are part of the Niagara Escarpment, aUNESCO World Biosphere Conservancy. This dangerous shipment would go by land from the nuclear facility at Lake Huron to the Port of OwenSound on Georgian Bay and then travel north on the east shore of Georgian Bay, pass a dangerous crossinginto Lake Huron and then south and west through Lake Huron, east through Lake Erie, Lake Ontario and theSt. Lawrence Seaway across the Ocean to Europe. The Canadian Regulator (CNSC)already has granted an export and transport licence. If this shipment is not stopped from traversing all those dangerous narrows there will be many more to comeas Bruce Power has already indicated. Please, please, alert the Committee to do whatever possible to deny passage to this highly dangerousshipment!I'm attaching the submissions by the Bruce Peninsula Environment Group which were presented at thepublic hearing in Ottawa in September 2010.Thank you very much indeed for all your help!Sincerely,Siegfried (Ziggy) Kleinau,Founder of the Bruce Peninsula Environment Grouphttp://www.bpeg.ca
