Vuk Jeremić was sworn in as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia onMay 15, 2007.As Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, he assumed the function ofthe Chairman of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe (May -November 2007).Mr. Jeremić was born in Belgrade in 1975. He graduated from the University ofCambridge with a degree in Theoretical Physics.He worked for a number of financial institutions in the City of London, includingDeutsche Bank and Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, and then for AstraZenecaPharmaceuticals.He graduated from the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University,with a degree of Master in Public Administration.He was a founder and the financial manager of the Organization of Serbian StudentsAbroad (OSSA), the first international organization of Serbian students, which at thetime had several thousand members.Following the democratic changes in Belgrade in October 2000, he worked as anadviser to the Minister of Telecommunications of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia,and then in June 2003 joined the Ministry of Defense of the State Union of Serbiaand Montenegro in the capacity of the Special Envoy for Euro-Atlantic Affairs.From July 2004 to May 2007, he served as Senior Foreign Policy Adviser to BorisTadić, President of the Republic of Serbia.In February 2004, he was appointed Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, andin February 2006 elected to the Main Board of the Democratic Party.Mr. Jeremić is married, and speaks English and German.
