Parliamentary Assembly
of NATO, for the
position of a Vice-President

It is a matter of national pride
to emphasize the fact tha
t Bulgaria was the first
country of the
former
socialist
bloc to set up

promote the values of the
Alliance, and it was only in the
Trans-Atlantic
year following the fall of the
communist regime in. Bu
lgaria that these
values were voiced in the
Bulgarian Parliament by
the present Minister of
Foreign Affairs of the
country. Therefore, the cand

ambition, as it reflects the
desire of the people
of my country to gain more
of the well-deserved respect
within the community of
NATO member states.
In addition, I firmly believe
that Bulgaria is still to
pla
y a vital rose in making the
region an area of increased sec

Dear Colleague,
I would like to officially present to your kind attention my application for the position of a Vice-
President of the Parliamentary Assembly of NATO.
I am convinced that a good many of my fellow NATO parliamentarians are worthy to be elected
to that highly responsible position. It is not that my personal qualities only have led me dare stand
for
election, It is that I firmly believe that it must be given to a representative of the countries that
joined
NATO most recently.
As a Bulgarian representative to the Parliamentary Assembly of NATO I would
