Dear Honourable colleague,
It is my honour and pleasure to extend to you an invitation for the Global Parliamentary Conference
(GPC) of the Parliamentary Network on the World Bank & International Monetary Fund (IMF), organised
jointly with the World Bank Group and IMF from 16-17 April 2018 in Washington D.C.
The GPC is the Networks flagship event and a yearly milestone on the international development events
calendar. It is the only parliamentary conference where parliamentarians engage directly the World
Bank President Dr. Jim Yong Kim and IMF Managing Director Mme Christine Lagarde. As such, the

Conference contributes to strengthening the impact of parliamentarians in shaping development
policies on a global scale.
This year, a half-day Parliamentary Summit on Policies to Support Youth Job Creation will be organized
on April 17, 2018 in the framework of the Global Parliamentary Conference. The Summit is co-organized
with Peace Child International and International Youth Foundation. It will explore the possibility of
creating a Global Fund for Youth Employment (GFYE) and propose concrete legislations from MPs in
their respective countries and at the global level to support youth job creation which can be promoted
by the members of the Parliamentary Network amongst their fellow MPs and their governments.
Participants will draft a resolution and action plan from the Summit. Keynote speakers will include youth
leaders and job creation experts from various government agencies and non-governmental
organizations and private sector representatives involved in the field.
Furthermore, as a participant of the GPC we will also register you to attend the 2018 Spring Meetings of
the IMF and the World Bank Group
a set of seminars, regional briefings, and other events focused on
the global economy, international development, and the world's financial system. Please note that
registration to the Spring Meetings is su je t to the approval of your ountry’s IMF/World Bank
Executive Director.
We hope that you will be able to attend the conference in person or that you can send a representative.
Note that we can host up to 3 representatives per country. The official languages of the conference will
be English and French.
