GLOBE Copenhagen Legislators Forum24th– 25thOctober 2009In partnership with:
Draft outline agenda and outputsForum Aim:i) To achieve cross-party political support within the G8+5 major economiesparliaments on what a successful outcome will look like at COP15 and toformally present this to the respective heads of government & to the DanishPrime Minister and to the Chair of COP15 following the GLOBE Forum.ii) To seek to break new ground through a focus on the measures thatlegislators can advance within the parliaments of the major economies toachieve the 70% of emission reductions required by 2020 to set us on arealistic pathway to achieve a 2 degree Celsius target.The Old Second Chamber, Folketing, Copenhagen, Denmark

Participation:100+ legislators from the top 16 major economies parliaments(Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy,Japan, S.Korea, Mexico, Russia, South Africa, United Kingdom, UnitedStates of America including hosts Denmark)Outputs:i)Consensus agreement on US Congressman Ed Markey’sreport of the International Commission on Climate and EnergySecurityAgreement on a set of legislative principles to be advanced byparticipants within domestic parliaments across the major economies.
