The Constitutional Act, which constitutes the framework for the political system in Denmark, does not mention political parties. Yet they play a central role in politics. The information sheet also contains information on how the first political parties were established in 1870 and on developments up to our day. The sheet is part of the Folketing’s series of information sheets that contain facts and figures on the Folketing, the work of the Folketing, Christiansborg, the parties, general elections, referendums and the EU.
